With an ultimate capacity of more than 20,000 seats, the arena was designed to respond to its distinct urban setting while revealing the activities occurring within. Bounded by Church Street, Hughey Avenue, South Street and Division Avenue, Amway Center’s primary entrance faces north to Church Street, creating a natural extension of the nearby downtown entertainment core. The Church Street entry features a large public entry plaza connecting to the spacious Disney Atrium.
From the very beginning, designers focused on creating a sustainable site; providing water efficiency; optimizing energy and atmosphere protection; conserving materials and resources; monitoring indoor environmental quality and health; and selecting environmentally preferred operations and maintenance. These elements have combined to create one of the most environmentally-friendly professional arenas in the country. Amway Center is the first newly constructed arena to be awarded LEED Gold certification.
Amway Center is home to the NBA’s Orlando Magic and hosts some of the greatest shows on tour. Altogether, it’s unlike any arena ever built.
